A330 MSP-AMS, econ seat selection

Hi, all.

I'm flying tomorrow at 3:30pm, A330 MSP to AMS. I've booked seat 29H (exit row bulkhead), but 21F/G are still open and I'm thinking of switching.

I could switch to 21G and HOPE that no one is booked in to 21F so I get two seats to myself. I lose the legroom of 29H, but I also lose the crowd/noise/smell of the lavs.

What would you do? Stay in 29H for the legroom? Or switch to 21G and hope that 21F remains empty?

Thoughts?

I personally would stay with the exit row, but leg room is important to me, and not having row in front I think is a great seat.

Is it an A332 or an A333? In either case 29 is good. On the 332, row 10 is no good.

Gbadger,

Why is 10 no good? I'm on the 333 in 10J this week...would be great to know "risk" of the seat and if I should change to a regular Y seat!

Also, I know my sister complains that while 29 has legroom, it does not have a window...

Thanks,
Robin

Hm. No window = not so good. But it's an overnight and dark out anyway.

And 21G doesn't really have a window, either.

Exit row gets very cold.

Since the rise of M fares I find myself too often in Y. And there, 29B/H rule.
I tend to sleep (with the help of Mr. Ambien CR) so I am not really missing a window.

Row 10 on the A332 is no good. It's a bulkhead, and I find the leg room to be limited.

Row 10 on the A333 is GREAT. There's plenty of legroom.

I'm on the 77L this weekend. Any thoughts on 44A? I heard no window there as well. No CR for me but a 10mg Ambien and 2 drinks should knock me our for 6 of the 16 hours.:)

I think the main complaint I've seen about row 44 on the 77L is the lack of power ports. As long as you don't miss them, no worries. I tend to take the legroom over power most times. :)

21G on an A330 won't have any window. It's an aisle seat in the center four seats. The seating on the A330, whether it's 332 or 333, is 2-4-2, with the seat letters AB-CDFG-HJ.

Do you care about having an AC power outlet? My understanding only seats 10-28 have power on the A330s. I think there is a reason all of the preferred economy seats are up there and not 29+.

The only benefit I see of windows on a TATL flight is you can lean up against it to sleep. Nothing to really see.

I usually pick 10 A/J on the A333. I find row 29 too close to the lavatory. Also, row 10 - first one out, power.
Otherwise I pick an aisle seat.
