Delta can't do arithmetic
Looking at my SkyMiles statement for 2009, the total in the MQM column is about 71,000. The statement for 2010 starts with 21,824 Rollover.
Adding up the MQMs for 2010, I get about 137,000 (including the rollover). At the top of the page, it says that total MQMs year-to-date are about 101,000, including about 11,000 rollover. Unfortunately, the stuff at the top is correct. The stuff shown in the details is Just Rong. Why can't they show the actual numbers they're using to compute the totals? |

I just noticed that for 2010, my online MQM bonuses from AMEX are showing 2X what they should be, but the total at the top is correct... Weird!

My total doesn't match the flights I took, but in my case the total at the top is wrong -- I added the flight miles up several times, and keep fairly close track of what I should be earning on each trip. The only entry that was wrong was the rollover -- it shows up double what it should be. Taking that into account I'm still down over 10,000 MQMs by their total.

From my experience and the testimony of all those who have posted before (and there are other threads which address this very topic, by the way), the totals at the top are correct. In my case, I have been tracking all my activity separately on a spreadsheet. That's how I caught that both my 2009 rollover miles and 2010 AMEX MQM miles (20,000 instead of 10,000) had been doubled. |
Rollover MQM doubling
And you think your SM statement is screwed up?
I have two Rollover line items: 2009 Rollover MQMs for 2010 0 2009 Rollover MQMs for 2010 98754 Neither of them is correct. It is actually the mean of the two (49377). So, the same as yours, some magic doubling. Go figure. It is Delta IT after all... P.S.: Total on top is indeed correct |
I believe my total at the top is correct. In the details, it says "2009 Rollover MQMs for 2010 10722." It should only be 5000 or so.

I keep a separate spreadsheet that I reconciled against the strange entries on the Delta website. It seems that for the MQM calculation, both the rollover miles and my Amex threshold MQMs entries are doubled, but the actual sum is correct.
In short, it looks incorrect, but the actual total is correct. |
are you adding up your roll over MQM miles you shouldn't.
|
Same here. The challenge for me is that the total that it is off by is 3,000 miles, and I have a lot of MQM entries for 1,500. Reconciling has been a beast... compounded by the fact that I am missing a ton of MQMs from a promotion (currently being addressed by a member of Kevin's team).
By the way, the 25,000 MQMs that showed up via the AX promo today show up as 50,000 in the MQM column, but correctly added 25,000 to the total. All makes reconciliation very difficult. |

Delta is aware. The totals are correct, some of the line items (primarily promotional or customer service MQMs) are not.

Mine too. Totals correct, details wrong in several places. I have missing flight segments, doubled MQMs, etc. in the detail but the total is correct. This is nightmarish if you're actually missing miles. DL has some serious database issues.

They seem to be filtering out and not displaying quite a few transactions. Now with the new interface, things have went from bad to worse (it seems that QA is something that Dullta IT is adamantly against). For example, one day I did three SkyMiles Marketplace purchases. Two of them show. One does not. Miles are deducted from total, but the transaction simply does not show. I asked CS, they confirmed that they see it and said that if I don't it must be one of the many bugs with dullta.com SkyMiles activity display (of course, it has not been fixed - fixing bugs is another thing that Dullta IT seems to be adamantly against). Also, for car rental miles, it used to show the city (location) before, now it no longer does so. Now, to give Dullta credit, I do have some miles from a ticket redeposit earlier that I was perplexed how come they don't show (ticket redeposit was for partial and not full miles) now show in the new interface (in the old one, only a part of that showed). It seems that now a few things that didn't show before (but affected the total show), but more things that did show before (and affect the total) no longer are displayed, or are displayed incorrectly (e.g. mileage doubled). It's just a mess. No wonder why Dullta does not display the running total (for each day, after each transaction, the miles and MQMs total) - purposefully making it very difficult if not impossible to reconcile the statement and forcing customers to do it manually, knowing that if it did then the totals would not add up and would show some additions and deductions of miles not displayed as any transaction (as some transactions Dullta likes to filter out and not show - why, I have no idea). |
