Changed Equip / Changed Seat
 

Upon checking in I received some very unpleasant news. I had the premium 18E bulkhead transcon 757 seat. They changed equipment to the 757 without row 18 and moved me to a middle seat in the back. I called the medallion line to try and get a better seat with no luck (I'm PM, DM in 3 weeks.). Number 6 on the upgrade list with 3 available.

Any advice to get a better seat? I was told on the phone my only option is to be at the gate 1 hour early (5:30AM) and beg.

If you can wait, maybe you can do SDC to a later flight so you don't have to put up with a middle seat? Heck, by SDCing you might be able increase your chances or snag an upgrade...

This sucks I know, but I have managed to weasel my way out of the middle seat everytime... Delta blocks all bulkhead seats for assignment at the airport [only the agents can assign people in those seats], so worst case scenario you can get a bulkhead seat.
