If I search by schedule, every attractive option that I pick for the return flights results in the message above. WHY DO YOU MAKE THIS SO HARD DELTA? |
Why bother with this POS website? Would not itasoftware.com show all the permutations available? I try hard not to fly DL; when they are the most logical choice, I try even harder not to book DL flights on their website.
Keep climbing indeed. |

That's what I did. I used ITA to find the best options, but then trying to book them on Delta's site doesn't work...

Unfortunately, I'm not currently in a location where the phone is a viable option.

The decline of delta.com has been dismaying. David |
Not sure if this will help, but when I find a specific set of flights I want on ITASoftware.com then I will use the multi-city booking option on DL.com.
However, you have to feed in every single flight along with all the details, EVEN the timeframe [I.E. pick 1:00P if you want to take the 1:15P flight] you want then you should get the flights you want. Try that and see if it works... |

Ah. Maybe Orbitz or Travelocity?

Thanks for the tip. I did try using the multicity tool, but still got the same error message. Anyway, as mentioned above, I managed to book the ticket on Orbitz.

Delta error 101728
I spent 4 hours yesterday on delta's website and then 1.15 on the phone trying to book 2 international multi-flights (three city), with chosen seats (including one economy plus) and every time I would get the same error 101728 which apparently has been happening since 2010. I called - they found the flights, but then wanted to charge me 250 more! I even found the flights again while talking on the phone and she could not find the one I did. This is ridiculous for a major airline!

Yesterday I spent an hour and a half trying to purchase a simple domestic RT from delta.dumb. First of all, asking to see all 42 flights, including connections, rather than just the first page of twenty produced an error. I needed to depart very late in the day for the return and I know from experience that my preferred times are always ignored. Then I went through a bunch of exercises where either delta.dumb insisted on starting over, it claimed I had been inactive too long (hello, less than a minute before the next click), my connection timed out while loading a page, and then three or four loops where the price went up by about $200 when I tried to pay.
Fortunately a call got me to Chisholm, where the agent was able to book exactly what I had found at the correct price in only a few minutes, including getting me the seats I had been trying to pick. The repeated messages that the fare was wrong or had sold out apparently were errors too! |

My DL.com error message trials & tribulations on Thursday . . .
I have a (fairly) simple award ticket with a stopover . . .
PIT/LAX LAX/SFO SFO/PIT I needed to tweak the dates a little, but the exactly the same routing. Not sure if it matters, but, I was doing this from gogo on the plane . . . 1) Check availability - all available. 2) Bring up my reservation. Click "CHANGE". Select my new flights. Screen says - 25K miles exchange for 25K miles - perfect. Screen says - taxes $10 paid new ticket $10 - perfect. Zero miles and zero $$$ due. All is good, right? ERROR! Please enter the security code for your credit card number! Why do they need my security code if it's an even exchange?!? 3) Okay, I entered my security code. Click "PURCHASE" ERROR! "Let's try that again"! Rinse / Repeat - 2 more times - SAME THING! ERROR.  My conclusion is that DL.com doesn't handle award tix with stopovers well, as this wouldn't book online in the first place at the right mileage! Anyway, I'm in MEX, so I was worried that by the time I got all the way to my hotel and get my laptop and Skype connected to call, the "LOW" inventory would disappear. Luckily, it didn't. :) |
