DL Codeshare on AF 7 Sept
 

Looks like there's another General Strike planned for France on the 7th Sept. (My luck). I'll be flying in to CDG that morning on an AF codeshare. Any idea what I can expect at the airport?

Since you're arriving the morning that the strike is supposed to take place, you should at least arrive o.k.

Bags? I think that should be o.k. too.

If you're travelling onward in Europe on AF, then, well...maybe not so good. If I remember, the short-haul routes get hit hard by the strike.

If Paris is your final destination, I think it will be o.k.

Paris is my destination. I have also reserved a shared shuttle service a while ago. But if you think that air traffic control and baggage will not be an issue, I am quite reassured...

Mrs. ND76 and I Are Headed for CDG This Weekend
 

We were going to go Friday at 5 p.m. DCA-BOS-CDG, but because of Hurricane Earl we called the DM desk and they rerouted us without charge on a much earlier flight, DCA-CVG-CDG.

We are doing a joint MR (wife is DM also) and celebration of our anniversary.

We are scheduled to come back on Tuesday. We are going to make another call to the DM desk to see if we can fly home from BRU, where DL125 looks wide open.

I wouldn't bet on anything operating, including your flight. I would call and try change the date, if they'll let you.

Good chance of ATC going out, or at least cutting back -- which as someone says affects shorter-haul more, but I'd try to avoid. And don't check a bag, in case of shortage of rampers.

These strikes are seriously tedious.
