The Single Identity service is NOT a credit-monitoring service. Amex offers CreditSecure for credit scores, reports and monitoring.

These are regular SM, not MQM, so no help for those looking for status tier bumps.

After reading about ways to cancel and joining Single Identity, I noticed that there's no "cancel button" to click anywhere on the "account" page as mentioned before. Sure, there are supposed to be other ways to cancel but I found it curious that this is no longer (if it ever was---isn't it a brand new program?) a way to cancel by clicking a button on the "Account" page. It was stated that one could cancel by clicking a "cancel" button on the page. Supposedly, one can call an 800 number, or send a letter to cancel (but might something else going to change also?). One thing that I hate is calling an 800 number to cancel only to get a stubborn CSR, who may not even follow through with canceling (it's happened to me before).

Cancelled the Service

My first month of subscription was getting over tomorrow. I called 800 number today and called my service. Still waiting for the miles but CSR promised me that I will definitely get the miles.

I did the same thing. They did give me a short pitch to try to get me to stay, but I politely declined. The CR did say that it would take 8-12 weeks for the miles to appear.

Overall, if they do appear as promised it's a pretty easy/cheap way to get 5,000 SkyPesos.

called in, they still confirm I will get the 5K miles,
but I am now into my second month,
so it's starting to look like
the 5000 will cost me $30+, or .6 cpm.

Hardly worth the trouble for SkyPesos....,
but I am in too deep now to bail out.

Where does it say you need to *keep* the service for 8-12 weeks?

You mean one can get 5,000 miles even after cancelling the subscription? I am also into the second month of my membership, and I am still waiting for my miles.

The 5000 miles posted today in my account. Signed up on 9/3 and paid for two months. Going to cancel tomorrow.

Easiest 5000 miles ever!
