Yes, it's a great new service for DMs - and it's for all DM international DL arrivals at JFK Terminals 3 AND 4. One other helpful thing is if you have a connection, they will escort you all the way through the TSA line and to the SkyClub (if you have time) as well.

Maybe DL is trying to model their program after the La Premiere service on AF, in which you are escorted through Customs and Immigration processing at CDG or ORY and continued to be escorted until you are either at the La Premiere lounge or rather at the gate.

I do hope that this will extend to other gateway cities...

I have a tpac trip in the middle of Sept arriving back at JFK and am definitely looking forward to this service. Hope they keep it going next month so I can see how it is.

This isn't the first time this has been reported on here, but I'm glad to see DL is still following this. Sounds like an amazing service.

I have now experienced it twice since it was first reported and I have to say that Delta is onto a winner here. Being top tier and a Premium flier on multiple carriers I have to say that this in fact is a good new and welcome perk (Yes, the odd carriere may do it hit and miss for F pax, but other than LH Hons in MUC and FRA) no one comes close to this as a top tier perk.

I missed the earlier reports on this service and will be happy to take advantage of it a week from Monday at JFK on a 3PM+/- arrival and also in early October on a flight scheduled to arrive at 5.

I have experienced something like this on a trip to Israel when a business acquaintance surprised us by arranging a greeting by an agent with a sign who took us to border control and a special booth on the far left side, bypassing all crowds.

Does DL provide this service to full fare Business Elite customers? Should they? Seems like someone on a $7,000 fare should get at least as good treatment as a DM on a $500 ticket in the back.

No, they should not. It could be a $7k pax, it could be a $10k pax. It couls also be a $1400 pax who bought an I fare 6 months ago. If they did that they would have to have up to 50 or so agents available PER FLIGHT to accomodate this, and that is not feasible. If this $7k pax is a valuable enough passenger then he'll be Diamond, and maybe will fly Delta more if he wants this service. In any case, for a variety of reasonsI rarely see many DM's in the back......

Very nice.

If this stays a consistent benefit it would be a material factor in my decision in attaining DM with Delta (as opposed to trying to rollover 40K+ MQMs above PM level).

I'm not DM only PM but I agree. This is a perk that would make me strive for DM

We experianced this a couple of weeks ago, great service, our flight arrived about 1/2 hour early, Melissa met us headed to immigration, we saw her sign, and said hey that's us! She took us all the way to the SC. She even tried to get us on an earlier flight while we were going through immigration, no luck there, but she met us on the other side and took us all the way to the SC desk. Great perk! Makes us want to book all our TATL to arrive @ JFK! Thanks DL!^

What Gives Delta the Right to Bring People to the Front of the Immigration Line?

There has been lots of discussion re the Elite lines for the TSA - theory is that the airline controls the access to the TSA, but the TSA does not discriminate based on Elite or First Class status.

I assume that the immigration facility is all under the control of the ICE What is the legal theory that allows DL to take certain customers to the front of the line?

I would think there's probably no difference between DL having an employee walk you to the front of the line or there being a "Fast Track" (or Business/First class only) line at immigration. You are invited to that line just the same way as DL invites you to the front of the queue by an employee bringing you there.

I haven't seen any "Fast Track" immigration lines in the US. Do they exist?
