DL Premium Security at PHL? (And wait time question.)

Just curious as to whether there is any premium/fast track security for domestic Delta FC at PHL, and what kind of checkpoint waits one could generally expect super-early AM on a weekday, (0400-0600.)

Thanks!

I can't speak to the times you're looking for but there is a lane labeled for "Premium Passengers" that you can use. It's not labeled incredibly well (IIRC the sign isn't double-sided and faces the other escalator coming up from the other ticket lobby) but as you come up the escalator from the DL ticket area basically make a u-turn when you reach the entrance to the security lanes and take the outermost lane. There will be someone guarding it so flash your ticket for them to see and you're on your way.

Over the least two months I've flown in and out of PHL a few times on DL leaving on the 2 or 3PM flights on a Thursday. The longest I had to wait was maybe 10 to 15 minutes because they only had 2 security lanes open (but seemingly Thousands Standing Around) and only one person checking IDs so he round robined between the premium line and standard line.

I second the original reply. I've waited maybe 10 min to get through security at PHL

The premium security line is the most far left lane. There is a sign that is kind of hidden but you just mention to the TSA person you want the premium line and you'll be let through.

Re the times: you'll be through security in 5-10 minutes if using the premium line. Probably less depending on who you get stuck behind at the x-ray machines.

....and keep your fingers crossed that the person that allows the access to the premium lane decides to have the lane open. There have been numerous times I was told that the line wasn't open while she was on her cell phone, and even was told after I asked why the lane wasn't open "Because I said so".

Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Departing between 5am and 7am, the last couple of times, she took one look at our boarding passes and directed us down the elite line.

Well it is the perfect storm of PHL and TSA together. I'm surprised she didn't boo you and throw batteries at you. :D
