When was the announcement announcing the big announcement announced and will there be an announcement announcing when the announcement for the big announcement will be announced?

Huuummm, I wonder what would be "fun and very satisfying" that would be legal to arrange for a group like us? Perhaps a taste test of new BE menus (satisfying if we can eat it all) and fun if it includes sampling the wines too.

Since I guessed the mystery dinner location (it was easy), Wes can verify, I was starting to feel competitive about figuring out the new one. Unfortunately, "fun and very interesting" isn't very specific and could describe just about everything that's scheduled for the DO. Perhaps a behind-the-scenes secret hidden tour of ATL ending with buggy (electric golf cart thingies) races through the E terminal? Or the tarmac BBQ with rampers that some of us are longing for? (I think this one was already vetoed, or at least tabled until next year.) A PJ party in Anderson's office? An escorted special tour of SkyMilesInsider's favorite places in Atlanta, including the best cheese shops? A chance to take apart a new nude-o-meter to see how it works with no obligation to reassemble the thing, sledge hammers provided? A decorating contest for a total gut and remodel (down to the concrete and wall studs) of the B10 SC, including a big bonfire? (Extermination to be outsourced.) A chance to print our own SkyMiles (sponsored by AmEx) and write our own award tickets, with a prize for the most creative itinerary? A ride in the Spirit of Delta, including some wild flying such as a very quick ascent, an aborted landing, and buzzing HQ and the Hilton (probably seriously dangerous given the level of aircraft traffic around ATL, so I'd settle for a scenic air tour of rural Georgia)?

Funny you should mention that... I was just going through my Delta Frequent Flyer Archive yesterday. Here is the Delta Frequent Flyer "Automated Mileage Program" chart from 1984.

Here is a trivia question: Does anyone know what year the Delta Frequent Flyer Program's newest enhancement - The Medallion Level was introduced?

MSPeconomist, I vote ^ for any of the options above (I excluded redecorating a SC, though...) Sometimes, I think we all suffer from taste-based discrimination that allows to work with the same airline. But, for any of the options above, I'd take it.

(Would you test the 'taste based' discrimination from the DL perspective, or the consumer prespective? either way, a Oxaca would be kind of nice testing here***)

***Sorry, too much labor econ.

If the stock market keeps falling as badly as it has so far today, can I get a refund of my $95 registration fee, my $150 for the RWT, and the $47.99 I paid in taxes for my Biz Elite award ticket?

(I may also have to put my original "Keep Delta My Delta" button up for auction.)

It is interesting that a TATL "Medallion" flight was 90,000 miles (QA) in 1984 and awards were restricted in the summer. It is only recently that it went ot 100,000.

Unless I am missing something, we have a pretty good deal today in spite of the "inflation" concernsand certainly a lot more destinations than London and Frankfort.

I was a Royal Medallion in the years prior to the start of the SkyMiles program in 1994/1995.

I can't remember the exact year the Medallion/Royal Medallion program started but I'm guessing 1987-1990 or so.

Numerous FAs told me I was a Royal PITA in those days (and still do).
