767 vs. 757 for upgrades
All,
Sorry if this has been covered before (I seem to recall it has, but a couple of searches didn't get me to the answer I was looking for...).
In terms of upgrade odds, have people found the 763 or 752 to give better odds? I think the wildcard is what sort of 763 is offered...This is for SFO-ATL.
This is how I interpret the numbers (Please let me know if I am missing something!):
752: 26/184 F seats (14.13%)
763: 24/262 F seats (9.16%)
763BE v1: 36/217 F seats (16.59%)
763BE v2: 30/215 F seats (13.95%)
It looks as though the SFO-ATL flights are handled by the standard 763... Am I correct in interpreting that our upgrade odds would be significantly better on the 752?
Thanks!

Yes. The 757 Domestic is better for upgrades (and seats) than the 763.
Edit: When I said "service", I meant seats.

Should also note that as a PM don't be too hopeful for an upgrade on the elite-heavy SFO-ATL run. Those flights frequently leave DMs on mid to high fare tickets sitting in the back... unless you are traveling on a real off-peak day and time.

I know the odds are very, very small, but you never know, particularly on Saturday/Wednesday travel.

You could have some luck with Sat/Wed. Personally I like the 763 even though many people complain about the narrower seats in F. I just happen to prefer wide body planes, but the percentage of F to Y is poor especially compared to the 757 w/PTVs.

I flew the 763 to SFO from ATL in April and the 763 had Business Elite. Not sure if it was a one off, is that what you are referring to as the "standard 763"?

You flew in an international configured 767-300ER with BE seats. There are domestic 767-300 that have regular F.

No, I was referring to the standard domestic F (4 rows) 763. This is what's indicated by the seat maps I'm looking at for that route on the dates of interest.
