priority security question

I'm FO and so far have had really good luck this year with getting upgrades and getting them b4 check in instead of at the gate, but I tend to fly the non business time flights so I'm sure that helps (hopefully I'm not jinixing myself). Since I've got the upgrades at check in I've been lucky enough to take advantage of the priority security line.

So my question is...*puts on coat*

Do the security people really look for elite plus on your ticket? Do any of you non elite plus folks that haven't been upgraded use the priority security line and get away with it?

Thanks in advanced, hopefully I dont get flogged by you high mileage warriors to bad.

It is spotty but only GMs and up get access. Most recently, I saw people turned away because they were FO or general at JFK.

At SAN there is a zero tolerance policy (at least during rush hour) - if you don't have elite on your BP, you will NOT be allowed into the priority line. On one occasion about 6 months ago they allowed late arrivers access because they were late :td: but that was before they fixed the queuing system.

At JFK on Friday I watched more than one person refused access to the elite line in T2. First time I waited more than 5 minutes so I had a chance to see this in action. Most of the time I walk right up to the agent and breeze through on the left.

Definitely seems to depend on the airport. ATL has absolutely zero policing of it at all, as it's a combined Elite/Black Diamond line. At least that was the case before Sky Priority kicked in last week. Curious as to whether it's changed at all.

LAX, MSY, MEM all seem to be pretty strict IIRC.

I've made it in the elite line at SAN and SFO as a FO. At the time it seemed that the gatekeepers only checked for Breezeway. This is prior to the rollout of Sky Priority. Since SP, I've been upgraded and used the line or was traveling off peak or from an airport where it doesn't matter (SJC).

whether or not I've been upgraded. On international itineraries, as a SkyTeam E+, I check in at the business class check-in, regardless whether I am in J or Y. I flew the miles, I'm entitled to the perks.

I believe the OP is referring to the "Elite Security Line" that some airports have not the Airline check in counters.
