It really is not a problem if DL does it as they did last year. No doubles for the LUT fares is clearly the way we should hope that they do it.

This one's double qualifying and banked miles. US must be getting desperate.

Not concerned about DL. I'm hoping AA or UA offer DEQM

As a Boxian, I must simply say, "more is more".

My guess is US is doing this because of the media reports that UA is in talks to buy them out. US is desperate to keep any passengers now so a Double Miles program seems appropriate.

I still hope DL doesn't do anything like a DEQM/TEQM promotion

US strikes with DEQMs, will DL and others follow?

some of our UA friends found this ealier: http://shopping.usairways.com/promot...00930_04132010

Is DL too involved with the Sky Priority launch to match or will they do something like last year and exclude the LUTs? Does it depend on if AA, CO or UA match? Your thoughts?

I doubt it. Last year the entire airline industry was pretty desperate. Things did pick up this year, and with the consolidation of DL/NW, capacity cuts and all, I don't think they NEED a DEQM promo.

Make Elite ELITE....keep the posers with their fake status on T fares in the back of the bus where they belong.

DL didn't even follow the other US majors last year with any double (or "triple" in DL-speak ) the usual status miles promotion except for a minority of its fares.

I don't expect DL to follow this time either.

Programs: Now just a lowly DL PM/1MM. This industry needs some competition.

Agreed. I wish DL would make MQMs only BIS miles. No more Amex MQMs, no mysterious gifts during the year, no double/triple MQMs if you fly on even mumbered days, have three arms, and live in Elbownia. Just keep it simple and consistent.

I would not mind DMQM

I would switch some flights from my AA/CO. Though, if they would provide the doubles as well, I would need to think.
Having DMQM would make me consider switching gears (or dollars) in full again at a certain direction
