DTW-LAX to get 763 & 77L Starting June 9th

DL is adding widebody service back to DTW-LAX.
Previously mentioned was 763 service, but with the most recent schedule update there will now be a 77L flying DTW-LAX on certain days of the week effective June 9th.

The 77L flies DL1619 DTW-LAX Depart 3:15pm Arrive: 5:15pm and the continues on from LAX later in the evening on the LAX-SYD flight.

The returning 77L from SYD-LAX, continues on as LAX-ATL.
DTW-ATL has 1 daily 777 and ATL-DTW somedays has 1 777 while other days has two.

The 763 operates the 7:40pm DTW-LAX flight everyday but Saturday
The 77L operates the 3:15pm DTW-LAX flight on Su/Mo/Tu/Fr, We/Th/Sa is a 757

This is a nice enhancement. At least the 777.

763 > A320.

If that's the case, why can't I find the 777 from DTW to LAX? I've searched about 15 dates from mid-June through early August and can only find 767-300s and narrow bodies.

Its only on VERY certain dates; this is on days when the 777LR will do a day turn in LAX from ATL; running DXB-ATL-LAX-ATL-DXB. However this starts in late May and not on June 9th.

The 777 shows up on DTW-LAX on Su/Mo/Tu/Fr in the lastest update in the electronic timetable. It isn't up on delta.com yet. Give it a few days and it will be there.

This is of course if they don't change the schedule.....again...and again.....

They have AVOD, what's not to like?

AVOD and 2-3-2 configuration which is better than the 777s 3-3-3.

At least, based upon the seatmaps at dl.com, it appears the 752s on the DTW-LAX routes are PMDL equipment (with AVOD) and not PMNW birds (with no IFE). That's a welcome adjustment... If it turns out to be the case, I'm glad Delta is placing their IFE equipped planes on the longer routes early.
