HNL-SLC-HNL
For anyone interested we had a great flight both ways. Excellent staff, coat taken to hang immediately during initial drink order on the ground, bottled water waiting at seat, large fluffy pillows with quilted blankets, normal power plugs for ipods, etc..., and operational flight tracking tool. On the late evening outbound we were offered sandwich plate (turned it down because we'd eaten at the airport prior). Offered Mai-tais on the slc-hnl flight along with the standard chicken or pasta dish for lunch. The brownie/cheesecake dessert was pretty good with the Bailey's they offered.
In reference to an earlier thread regarding the use of the carts, they were only used to block off the front when the Capt. or Flight Crew needed to come out and stretch or use the loo.
We did have a minor delay, guess the port side front door did show some kind of problem. We went back to the gate, mechanics came onboard to check it out. What was comforting was the Captain and Co-Pilot also came out to check it out. After the conclusion that a "decorative panel" had come loose, all was fixed and we were on our way with a 30 minute delay. They turned on the afterburners and we made it to hnl with only a 10 minute delay.
Again, great flights and kudos to Delta and their staff.

Glad you had a nice flight. The flights themselves are usually quite nice. Was the "Decorative Panel" a poster on the plane proclaming DL the Largest Airline in the World, maybe even the Universe? Perhaps that panel knows something we don't about a potential UA-CO merger!

Hmmm . . .that's new - sounds like Biz Elite pillows/blankets. Regardless of flying back thru PDX, SEA, LAX, or the nonstop to SLC in the last few months, I've just gotten the standard pillow and the blue polyester blanket in FC.

Flew LAX-KOA last week and got the big, nice pillow and quilted blanket in FC. In coach on the return flight, got the mini pillow and the dark blue thin blanket.

Flew SLC-HNL a couple of weeks ago. The plane is a Delta plane, 763 with standard FC seats. Larger pillows were very nice. Also, the Mai Tai was one of the best I have had. Agree that the crew is exceptionally nice and seem to go out of their way to try to make the flight enjoyable.
