I am all about speed and efficiency.... I have the routine down to an art... Entering. The TSA playground. I have laptop out, ziploc bag out. Pockets emptied into the carryon pocket.... No belt, and shoes loose and ready-often flip flops from MCO.
After leaving the TSA play zone, i may still have laptop and ziploc in hand til i reach the MCO tram. I usually adjust everything either waiting for the train or on the train....
Going on the plane, the mp3 is in the pocket and i know bin config with regard to my bags. I am on the plane with bags in bin in absolutely no time since there is nothing to come out of those bags....
I always find it amazing how some people can take foreva to settle in- laptop, book, NCH, newspapers, and more- all while holding up the line since they are usually screaming on a cell phone while they are doing all of this... Oh and let's.not forget those that are also toting on the four course meal with a big gulp cup...

Not complicated if you follow the rules with one bag up, one bag down. But when you have an oversized bag, a backpack, a pillow, a cup of joe, 3 shopping bags, two books, headphones on, your guitar, and other random crap more than the 1+1 it slows you (and the rest of the cattle) down.

I see this regularly...There's always at least ONE. Interestingly, they always seem surprised when zone 1 is called and people want to get by them (they're often zone 2 pax). They seem to have mastered that look of combined disbelief and mistrust..."Are YOU really in zone 1?"

Have you ever noticed the ad that pops up between the FT header on the page and the topic? I never noticed that it must some how be selected by the topic.
Point: well here is the ad that shows up on this page when I look at it:

Here is a thread that documents the need for gate lice, even in F.

Just one of the many reasons I pay for the DL Reserve card, so I can get in the SkyClub

Amen to that!
Same here TD 777. Delta AMEX Reserve almost pays for itself (almost). At least my sanity will remain intact. I haven't seen a shanty town like this (see above image) Hurricane Katrina.

I won't sit bulkhead EVER unless with another pax (or no choice).

Then you could play the "do you know where I sit card" with the FA and have them clear some space in the overhead bin, or, possibly use the closets or other creative storage options.

I must confess there are times when the SLC Skyclub is just jam-packed, I've had all the drinks I should before an upgraded flight, and I head out early to the gate. If I have a bulkhead seat and have to fight for the FC overhead space, you may see me leaning on my rollaboard like the dude in the OP's post.
Having grown up a Kettle before having gotten educated, and then having been rewarded with the apparent privilege of flying 100K miles a year, I gotta say most casual travelers are not bad people, and infrequent travelers should usually (not always) not be knocked or mocked for their unfamiliarity with what we may consider etiquette. I doubt that fellow a couple of posts ago is lying on the floor because he prefers it. He just couldn't find a seat. Maybe he should be leaning on a rollaboard near the gate wearing better clothes? I bet he doesn't worry if NRSA's have snagged the last available FC seat, and perhaps is not a worse person because of this.
Please forgive my sensitive mood this evening...
