While I'd be inclined to agree with all of your other opinions, I think the above is not a problem.

Some photos from 07/19/2010.
http://mypage.iu.edu/~jbowden/flyert...a-sky-lax.html The funny thing I didn't know that public was allowed behind the counter - finally the lady working the area said it was open bar area! |
Took some pictures as well last week and finally am uploading them.

Were those couch cushion fortresses always there or was this some overpaid designers' new idea? |

Any specific comments on the liquor selection?
I have a few LAX layovers coming up and was debating a 30 day pass...won't be DM for another couple months. |

I wonder if they chose not to have any floor mount outlets due to additional cost concerns running it through. Despite valid points, it does seem like a nicer place. |
Delta LAX lounge - HUGE misses post reno
I just landed on a delayed Sydney flight to be welcomed to the newly renovated Delta LAX lounge. Aesthetically, not bad. Functionally - many big misses. It's 10:00 AM and it is already about 80 degrees in here. There is no power at the seats except for a few outlets along the walls and the cubby-hole desks along the window (they did a massive renovation and didn't think to install floor conduits ?) Another miss: no showers available yet. Also, inadequately small men’s room (twice I have had to wait in line to use it).
What I find most displeasing about this lounge is that they sell 10K-15K USD tickets in their much touted BusinessElite service to APAC on very nice new 777LR equipment (flight was really good by the way) and you arrive off of a 15 hour flight and find third-rate facilities. I hope someone at Delta reads this and responds. My goal with this post is to get them to improve this place - otherwise I will certainly go back to Qantas or UA. Scott |

there's a big section of the LAX club still under construction... how about waiting until everything is finished before you condemn the place?

really? I thought that it was all finished as of a week or two ago. There's a thread on this somewhere...
The lack of power at seats not along the wall is rather disappointing though if this club is the way that future SCs will be modeled - would have loved to see them take a page out of UA's book at their renovated ORD (and reopened MSP) lounges. |
To the OP. Looks like you are unhappy. Sorry about that.
I have spent quite a bit of time there and can sympathise with some points but others are off base... 1 - Showers. - Give them time, they are coming 2 - Power Outlets - MAJOR ISSUE. This is something they must address, there are far too few outlets for the space. I have a feeling this will be addressed but am not sure. 3 - Temperature - The times I've been there it's been too cold. I would give them some time to get the AC down to a science. Much larger area than before. 4 - "Third Rate" - Not sure what "first rate" lounges you are seeing. This is heads and shoulders over the vast majority of domestic lounges I've seen/ |
I was thre yesterday before boarding the 777 to ATL. As always, the staff is very welcoming and helpful. The men's room fix up is great--a clean, fresh look. The seating is very comfortable; there are work-stations with outlets and more to come I understand in the section behind the desk--it will be completed in a week or so. The bar/snack area is sleak and clean--a great design. Showers are being renovated now and will be available.
I think the club is overall--GREAT! |
They replaced Woodford Reserve with Canadian Club. It's starting to feel like a Word Club already.
