Pay with Miles...EQMS??

Do you recieve your EQMs if you use pay with Miles?

I was prompted when booking yesterday to use 25,000 miles for my RT ticket yesterday for a $0 cost at checkout. If you do get EQMs, this seems like a no brainer and a better way to book "award travel"

thanks in advance

No. (At least you're not supposed to earn mileage on these tickets.)

"Pay with Miles tickets are not eligible for mileage accrual, Medallion Complimentary Upgrades, Medallion Segment Qualification, Medallion Qualification Miles, or Best Fare Guarantee."

from T&C at: http://www.delta.com/skymiles/use_mi...iles/index.jsp

What if use miles to partly pay for the ticket.....i.e 20,000 miles for $200 off? Does anyone have any experience with that

Same source, T&C, under "Restrictions":

"Tickets purchased with full or partial Pay with Miles redemptions are not eligible for mileage accrual, mileage upgrades, Platinum Systemwide Upgrade Certificates, or Medallion Complimentary upgrades."

This was a complaint we made about PWM some time ago. FWIW, I recall DL was looking into different ideas about somehow earning partial credit.

pay with miles is a total rip off if you ask me, lets say tix cost 500.00 usd, and you pay with miles & cash 25k miles = 250.00 discount, and then you use 250.00 cash to pay for the rest, and still dont get MQM screw that you hippie. lol

Lots of people would rather keep the cash rather than miles. Many will forego a trip instead of buying $500 plane tickets. I don't criticize their judgment by implication, or Delta's offering.

Just bought a ticket using PWM for a friend. DL award was showing 35,000 miles + $10, ticket was $270 (25,000 miles + $20). I don't need the miles, didn't want to spend the $.

Fair enough, but similarly, lots of people would prefer to accrue points or miles on a program like US Bank Flexperks where you get a similar or better redemption value AND EQMs and RDMs. I think the latter group is getting a better deal.

My mom got MQMs one the return of a trip on which she used PWM for half of the ticket. It seems like this may have been an exception rather than the rule.

Sorry if I ask a stupid question. On which American Airlines can I get miles? I fly 4 times a year but have never used miles yet.

I recently (April 7) completed a trip where I used 10k miles to reduce flight cost by $100. I received MQD on the cash portion and full MQMs and MQSs.
