Intl Skyteam FC award possible on Delta?

Hi,

I searched but am not able to find the information easily. Is it possible to get an international award on Skyteam partners in F using Delta miles?

On OneWorld and *A it seems possible to do so using miles from their US-based partners.

Only on Singapore Airlines, and the termination of that partnership has been announced, so don't delay.

I am duly chastised: SQ is a SkyMiles partner but not SkyTeam.

I think it is impossible currently as DL has only 2 cabins. FWIW, AF and the other awards always show as "premium" cabins. The only possible way around it would be via another program (like AMEX membership rewards) and "pay with points." I don't think you can get into AF F cabin or the others.

Saddly, the SQ agreement is going away.

SQ is not a Sky Team airline. The answer to your question is No, not with DL miles (you were at one point in time able to redeem for AF F, but alas that is long gone).

That wouldn't be the real reason. It could certainly be worked out, as CO has worked it out with its *A partners, allowing 3-class F redemptions with OnePass miles.

Sadly, there are no First Class awards available using SkyMiles on SkyTeam partner airlines. Further, as people have noted, the one source of international First Class awards, Singapore Airlines, is leaving as a SkyMiles partner.

Years ago, First Class awards were available using SkyMiles for Air France but Air France stopped allowing them. Supposedly, other SkyTeam partners CAN obtain First Class awards on AF, but I don't know if that's the case.

For some strange reason, Delta seems determined to eliminate any possibility of true premium award travel using SkyMiles. I guess they think that everyone wants to use their SkyMiles either in SkyMall, or for RJ flights between Allentown and Omaha

It's available on every Delta-operated flight with J for sale.

AF eliminated all standard F awards for both its own members and SkyTeam:

But it is simply unavailable on many non-DL, Skyteam flights regardless of how many miles one is willing to use.

Thank you for all your helpful replies

Folks,

Thank you for all your prompt and helpful replies. I would like to take the family in F on a long haul trip, but can not afford to pay for it. So I was hoping there was a way I was not aware of. I guess not. Sigh.

As an aside, I have been able to redeem J before, but the number of miles required seems to keep going up.
