VDB Amounts Changing Again?
This morning, I was scheduled to go SDF-CVG-PHX. The SDF-CVG segment was oversold by 1, so I took the bump. They started off by offering me $200 for a flight arriving 6 hours later than originally scheduled. I was able to successfully counter by asking for $400, but the GA had to call "Global Services" to get an authorization code. Also said $600 was not allowed.
My later flight, SDF-ATL-PHX, was also oversold out of SDF. The GA ended up having to send me over to CO. He was unable to get the computer to give me a $400 voucher, so had to print out 2 x $200 vouchers. I thought that the new policy was supposed to be $400 minimum, and $600 for over 4 hours. Is that not correct? Or is this another new policy that someone else has experienced? |
Yes, they changed about two weeks ago.

For Invol see DOT rules and it is cash/check NOT a voucher Most people are too anxious to volunteer If they held out they will get more, because the airlines do not want to do Invol and pay cash. Also there is a DOT rule, that the Airlines DOT compliance rules have to be available in writing at the gate and they can be fined if it is NOT available. http://airconsumer.dot.gov/publications/flyrights.htm |
