Not a bad offer but they aren't MQM if that is what you are looking for.

Maybe I spoke too soon. I thought I would pay $1000 for 100,000 mile transfer .

I did not realize I get back 50,000. Is that right ?

Definitely worth $500 for 100,000 miles to my wife's account. Don't have access to email now .

Are you sure that's what it comes down to ?

Maybe I am a little slow but the email says pay 1 cent per mile so if I transfer 100,000 I have to pay $1000 plus $30 fee and then get my 100k back .

That's $1030 for 100,000 sky miles . What am I missing ?

Nothing. You are essentially paying 1.03 cents per mile. Not bad depending on to whom you are transferring the 100K miles. Your account balance stays the same and the other person's account increases by 100K. You had better bet that other person doesn't divorce you or unfriend you. LOL.

Since gifting my wifes a/c would cost me $1030 plus about $400 or more taxes EX ATH for J and then have to deal with availability when we need

better off paying $1k and her flying coach EX ATH when she wants plus getting the miles IMHO

You can only transfer a max of 30K per transaction... and each transaction has a $30 fee + transfer costs.

So, to transfer 100K miles it's 4 transactions ($120) + fees ($1000) for a total of $1,120 ... or 1.12 cents/mile.

That makes it even worse! $1120 is. Guaranteed economy ticket Rt ATH JFK. If the EX ATH taxes were not so much higher it would be worth it.

I just burned 100k SM PLUS $78 tax for RT JFK ATH. The extra taxes is a deal breaker for me

Thanks to all who have started the 2 threads or PM'd me on this one -- MQM AT LAST!

Sign up for the Delta SkyClub 11/2/2011 through 12/31/2011 at the price based on your elite status (or not) and earn 1500 MQM. Promotional Reference Code: Please refer Delta customer service representative to 970625. (Note: You can always roll the MQM over to 2012.)

I found this link: https://www.delta.com/traveling_chec...omos/index.jsp and use of the code "HPMQM".

Miles/points are worth what they replace in terms of what you'd *actually be willing to pay in their absence*. This varies by person. Never listen to someone who tells you what a mile/point is worth to you - there's no way for them to know. To illustrate: I use 25K Skymiles on a regular basis for first-class domestic travel that I can change/cancel at will. If I wasn't using the miles, I'd be spending 2-4 CPM instead for the tickets. Worth a lot to me. For someone who rarely travels, doesn't have status, or doesn't know how to use miles effectively, they might be worth barely more than a penny. The "price floor" for SkyMiles is 1 CPM for anyone who has access to PWM and needs to buy at least one flight at some point, as you can get 1 CPM deducted from the price of your ticket this way.

No need to apologize... your continued great work here is immensely appreciated, even when delayed!

So... if I transfer 30k to my SO and her account increases by 30k and mine (effectively) stays the same... is there any upper limit? It would seem that I could continue to transfer these miles over and over again until we had all that we wanted... at 1.12cpm.

Has anybody actually done this transfer? Does it reduce your balance by the transfer amount and then the miles get re-deposited later?

Yes. You will find it in the terms & conditions:

Each member is limited to transferring no more than 150,000 miles from his or her account and no recipient may receive more than 300,000 transferred miles from any other SkyMiles program account or combination of accounts in any calendar year. Any miles beyond this limit will not be transferred from member's account or posted to any recipient's account.

I would do this for 1.12 CPM and I am jealous , but the $400 Ex ATH TAXES makes it like 1.6 CPM .

I wish my wife had a bunch to transfer to me
