That would be a great addition to the DO. We should also scan boarding passes (to make sure that everyone boards in the right zone) and work the phones at the reservation desk.

And the sad thing is, that's only about halfway tongue-in-cheek for us.

+1. RWT was like being a FA...There should be a similar event with FTers being GA's and ramp agents!

Thank you for the feedback and responses so far. There certainly is quite a high level of interest in this event, which, given the feedback from the last event is no surprise at all. We are still very early in the planning stages, and we are reviewing the feedback on here as well as the e-mails. We will do our best to take the feedback into consideration as we move further along with the planning. I never under-estimate the creativity of FT members! You never know what we might come up with… We will continue to provide everyone with updates when we have confirmed the details.

In the meantime, several people have asked if they could put a deposit down now - :). Rest assure, we will do our very best to accommodate everyone once we have selected the dates and officially open the event for registration, which won’t be until sometime after the beginning of the calendar year. We were able to clear the waitlist for everyone that wanted to attend the last event, so we ask for your continued patience.

Safe travels.

Thanks for all your work so far. The sooner you can at least get a "save the date" post so some of us can try to make it work, the better. Even if registration wouldn't open for another X number of weeks, etc.

It was more about learning to be good ABP's, despite my experience serving a B/E meal.

That looks SO difficult Gargoyle...

Was it real food?

I'm being sarchastic...

From the meals I've had served to me on flights before, I could probably ace it.

Hey...your olive oil made it to MCO undamaged last night :D

Given the circumstances surrounding that bag, I'm amazed that it made it, undamaged is a miracle!

Indeed...the fact that nothing went wrong is a really good thing.

Still not learning. But, on topic, you have lots of intenrational BE meal service experience? I know that Gargoyle does and even he got it wrong...

Me too! Everything was packed and the jam & oil made it there. No nasty agents got to it!

Interestingly enough, I've never flown internationally on DL.

Meal expereinces:

LX53 BOS-ZRH (dinner and light breakfast)
LX52 ZRH-BOS
CVG-ANC *FC*
DL1414 ANC-ATL
DL802 HNL-ATL (dinner and light breakfast)

I believe that's it. I've had countless snack services, but this is all meals I remember.

Really excited for the DO.

I even thought of a really creative idea of letting the FAs be passengers and having FT members be that FAs in one of the mock-up cabins at the training center. Now that would be good material for the comedy channel.

A wise man once said, "Walk a miles in another man's shoes...."

Who knows what we have in store for the next event  One never knows. Like Canarsie and I have said before, stay tuned...

Sounds great!

Well, slight correction as Gargoyle already pointed out. RWT is not nearly as intense as 6 weeks of FA training. Although we learned how to be prepared and deal with a variety of emergencies, and got a lot of practice on how to quickly and safely evacuate the plane, I am certain that many of FT'ers were glad there wasn't a test and certification at the end. With that said, I think many who participated will tell you they had fun and they are really much more prepared to assist with handling an emergency, in the unlikely event one should arise.

Who says we are not working on a GA program? Do you think you can handle 8-10 outbound flights in day, during bad weather, with a few cancellations thrown in for good measure? And how about managing the Breezeway boarding at the gate and scanning boarding passes, while fielding all those questions about did FC really board full, and why do I have to gate-check this 29" rollerboard that I got through security? ;)
