Delta's Unchallenged Exploitation of Africa Comes to an End
United (and by extension of worldwide ATI, CO) to introduce service from Washington/Dulles to Accra, Ghana, and Lagos, Nigeria:

"Exploitation" is certainly a word I would have never used to describe Delta's service to Africa.

Great. The more overextended airlines losing money, the merrier.
"Exploitation" is a reference to some of the absurd reports that have come out of (I believe) Nigeria. |
Who cares about what Nigeria claims anyway? They freaken have some prince dying there every week and never send me the millions they claim they are going to send me`1

What are the yields on the Nigerian runs? Is it the oil business that makes it attractive? I can't imagine what else.

Is the ORD-BRU flight timing being scheduled with convenient onward connections on incoming Star Alliance member Brussels Airlines? Brussels has a reasonable amount of service to Africa for such a small non-African carrier.

DL exploited NW.
DL will have a stronghold on JNB as long as UA doesn't acquire longer range aircraft. But inside, I was hoping UA would serve JNB, to keep some healthy competition. |

I would swim rather than subject myself to United again.
If you need Star Alliance, South African Airways has been exploiting the Africa-US route for many years now. |

Exploitation? You are ignorant. Africa needs the attention and connections Delta was brave enough to give it.

The links in this post should provide some useful context:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/12269601-post18.html Some Nigerians have come with some pretty wacky stuff the last year. |
