Two Skymiles Accounts
Recently received a new Skymiles Account Number and Card. I thought when I "linked" my accounts that I would only have one account after the merge. Anyone else experience and should I cancel the new "account"? Thanks for the assist.

Hi - I too have had this problem. Delta sent me an email with my "new" Sky Miles account and the instructions on how to merge your new and old Sky Miles accounts. You should be able to go here: delta.com/mergeaccounts and enter the numbers and pins of both accounts and then merge them. However, when I just tried to do this, I got an error message saying that the function wasn't working and I should try again later.

Two Skymiles Accounts
Any chance that you had two WP accounts?
Maybe an older NW account that has been inactive? Since NW didn't delete older accounts (and I think Delta is trying to recapture as many prospective customers as possible), chances are that Delta has pulled every WP account in the database to be a prospective new account.
In August I found that I had an old existing WP account that I had not used since 1993!! Low mileage balance but still considered active. I was able to work with the WP customer service and get it merged into my prime WP account prior to the October 1st merge. My guess is that if I had not merged the two WP accounts prior to Oct 1, then I would have been assigned a new SM number for my old WP account.
Just a guess - but you may have an old WP number in the system.
Good luck - hopefully there are some "Found Miles" in your future!
