NW issued PU503 certs

Hi all,
Sorry for the cross-post, but this search across joined forums thing led me to post in the old skymiles forum...Obviously this is more appropriate here.

Can someone confirm for me whether it's possible to use NW issued PU503 certificates to upgrade to domestic F/BE if I purchase a "K" or higher fare on a DL coded, DL operated (i.e. DL metal, not NW) flight and Z/G is available? I'm talking about purchasing a ticket via DL channels (ie delta.com).

The certificate rules state that the ticket must be on 012 ticket stock, but have these been updated since the merger?

I think it still has to be on 012 stock. They are separate airlines still. But you should be able to find the same flight on nwa.com for the same price as on delta.com. Then you know it's on 012 stock.

Ok..Thanks. Hopefully the fare classes would line up as well (i.e. R is available when Z/G is, and K+ (on DL) = V+ (on NW).

With some searching on ExpertFlyer, I think we have a problem...DL operated flights don't have "R" inventory (required for PU503), and 012 purchased tickets won't have Z/G available.

I spoke to a DL agent last night who (after putting me on hold for 15 minutes) says that they are now valid on DL ticket stock for Y/B/M fares.

absolutely incorrect.

You need to call NWA reservations:
Will I be able to use my Systemwide Upgrades issued by WorldPerks?

Yes. If you received Systemwide Upgrades prior to the merging of WorldPerks into SkyMiles, you can still use your upgrade. Since the upgrade was issued in the Northwest system, it will be necessary to continue to book your upgrade via nwa.com or Northwest Reservations.

It can be on a 006 stock, but NWA reservation needs to pull the ticket from DL and created and 012 NWA stock. Once they do that, they will rebook you in Z or G. You can use PMUs on DL K+ and NW V+ on domestic routes and YBM for int'l routes.

My partner and I used a total of 12 PU503's, all on DL issued tickets. It was a PITA for the agents that applied the upgrades, but these can definitely be used on DL itineraries/flights. You must book at least a K fare for domestic and at least an M fare for international.
