Goodbye to the Red Tail

In the interest of saying a proper "good bye" to the Red Tail, I snagged this video today at LAX of a Red Tail Boeing 747 coming in for a picture perfect landing. I hope you enjoy it!

Enjoyed the view of this 747 from ATL Term E SkyClub last Tuesday afternoon. Sorry I couldn't get the "red tail" with my IPhone camera from my angle.

This is a very lovely picture. Surprised that an iPhone can take such a shot. Thanks. ^

Very cool ... We had just come in from NRT on that aircraft!

Flight (service, food, comfort) were all quite fine ... but the outside really needed a good scrubbing.

Nice video and photo, it'll be sad when they're all gone. :(

Just a random thought, but it has always bothered me that on NWA planes, one side of the logo is truly "Northwest." However, on the otherside, the logo becomes "Northeast." It's lame  :p

IKR! Lamer still, it wasn't only until within the last couple of years that I finally figured out that the logo was supposed to be a compass.

Nice shot. It's kind of sad to see more and more widgets every time I pass through DTW. Even though I'm a Delta guy, NW was (almost) always good to me.

.

Couldn't figure out how the logo was a "compass" so I googled it (what a good friend Google is)

I found this: http://www.goodlogo.com/extended.info/2557 explaination. I understood the N and W but not the compass pointing towards "NW" direction.

How very clever!

Not many more redtails left out there. Mostly a bunch of RJ's in MEM, one or two A330s (AMS-BOM) and maybe 1-2 747s.

Who cares? I always disliked NW domestic First class. SWA coach is better if you ask me. Seats were terrible and no IFE like on DL. The only thing I'll miss is the Pepsi products on board.
