laptops to cuba?
Hoping to make a trip to Cuba later this month and just had a little worry because my partner and I will both have our work laptops with us. The UK government website has vague language about GPS devices being seized and such...
Just curious - do we need to worry about bringing laptops and other tech with us into Cuba? We are doing a multi-leg trip, including some time in PR and then up in the mainland as well. Do we need to leave things in Miami? Any insight welcome! |
Not at all. Pre-COVID, a million Canadians visit Cuba annually (though most on resort vacations and may not have computers with them) and never heard of any issues (unless, of course, one does something stupid, criminal, stupidly criminal, or criminally stupid). I suspect your issues, if any, are going to be with the U.S.

Are you self-employed? If not I’d ask your employer what their policy is for foreign travel with company property.

Common crime is uncommon in Cuba. Just watch out for the petty stuff, like pickpockets. |
thanks for the replies. both me and the other half had our laptops etc and all was fine. No one seemed even remotely interested. What an amazing, beautiful, and sad place.
