Taxi, Bus, or Colectivo?

I have a trip to Havana and Varadero from 30th Apr.
My itinerary is,
HAV Airport -> Varadero Hotel(2nights) -> Havana city(3nights) -> HAV Airport

I tried to book a bus from Havana City to Varadero and just found out it was full.
What is the second cheapest way to get to Varadero hotel from HAV?
Can I find Colectivo in HAV airport?

I googled taxi or Colectivo cost but some article says 10CUC/per-pax while others 30~60CUC/pp.

I'm traveling with my wife and good to travel with someone to share a ride.

Thank you in advance!

P.S. We both can't speak Spanish.

"It" was full. There's more than one bus company.

A colectivo is just that, a shared taxi. So the price depends on how many people are sharing it to divide the cost.

Getting off an international flight with long immigration lines and then getting straight onto a 3+ hour bus ride wouldn't be my idea of how to travel comfortably, especially when you can't speak the language.

Take a private taxi, costs about 80CUC. I have done that before, getting off a flight from Toronto and straight into a cab bound for Havana.

I thought Viazul is the only bus company in Cuba.
Could you tell me some other company name running between Havana and Varadero, please?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone!

I came back and want to share my experience.

I could catch a taxi from HAV airport to Varadero hotel 60CUC one-way.
On my return way, I talked to 3~4 taxi drivers the best deal is 80CUC one-way.
I took a transtour bus without booking 25CUC/PP. This bus dropped us very close to our hotel.
Almost all drivers I talked to in Cuba can speak English good enough.

...well enough? Whose English needs improvement? LOL

"I could catch a taxi from HAV airport to Varadero hotel 60CUC one-way."
Interesting.
That is a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive for 60CUC?
The regular taxi charge from Varadero airport into town is 30CUC, maybe a 20 minute ride, and drivers will not bargain.
Just reinforces how much a tourist gets ripped off by taxis in Cuba.

I don't get ripped off. I have my contacts.

This forum includes people who haven't been to Cuba before.
Unless you're willing to post your contacts here for everyone to use at will, of course, how useful to the forum is it to boast about them?

My English needs to be improved Anyway I want to share my latest experience wishing this will help someone.

Yes, it took about 2.5 hours. I just was lucky for taking a taxi (Hyundai car) not waiting in a cue but return to Matanzas.
A taxi agent arranged it with a quick conversation and took a taxi driver to us. He offered 100CUC, I asked for 60CUC and got it. That was all in 1 minutes.

I heard HAV Airport -> City (30min) is 25 CUC flat rate.
I also took a classic car taxi from City to HAV airport for 25CUC without negotiation (I had no choice) at early morning 6 AM.

The other taxi rides I had...
6 CUC from Plaza de Amas to La Cabana (10min)
8 CUC from Morror Castle to Plaza de Armas
These are also classic cars. I needed to talk to a couple of drivers to get this price.

Thats a great price good for you! You should try to estb a relationship(business) with the driver, so that if you ever go back you know who to contact.
