New cruises to Cuba....

Currently, there is only the Louis Cristal that makes a 1 week loop around the island with an out-of-country stop in Jamaica.

Looks like it'll be joined by MSC which will redeploy the Opera to Cuba and also Carnival which is creating a new line called fathom to extort passengers for a 7-night licensed-for-U.S.-persons "people-to-people" cruise with the Adonia which has most recently sailed with Carnibval Corp.'s P&O and Princess (as the Royal Princess).

Small ships so they can get in and out of Cuba's old harbours (Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos have tight, tricky entrances to their respective bays and Havana's old harbour is said to be very shallow.) Opera will be the largest at 65,000 tons.

Cubans and Exile-Cubans with a passport from a third country are not allowed on cruise ships to or from Cuba.

But these cruise ships will be a haven for some to escape from Cuba.
