With the beginning of diplomatic relations with Cuba, which airlines will be the first to fly commercially ?
My bet is AA.

UA, AA, Sun Country, and others currently fly there as scheduled charters. It will still be a long time until scheduled service widely available service.

When I was there in January 2013, I flew there on SkyKing, that was... quite the experience.

American airlines** rest of the world still flies there. Been three times in the last few years for a cheap all inclusive week away from Canada's cold winters. Beaches are some of the best I've ever seen, glad it's opening up!

The rest of the world already flies commercially to Cuba.

The world doesn't revolve around America, you know.

I understand that. Perhaps I should have added the word "American " ?

If the question doesn't relate to you - don't worry about it

I would guess AA, since they have a hub at MIA which is the most logical connecting point and has a large Cuban community. However, commercial service is still a long ways away. While I am glad to see a potential improvement of relations, I hope Cuba keeps its charm and doesn't get run over by McDonalds and Coca Cola.

Ironic that Havana-Key West was Pan Am's first route.... how times have changed.

Moderator note.

FlyerTalk has had a dedicated forum on Cuba for some time, and I suspect it will be getting a lot busier. I'll move this thread there. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.
