NYC to Cuba

Whats the best way to visit Cuba living in NYC being a US Citizen?

Doesn't matter where you live--go through a legitimate tour group. Makes it a lot easier.

Flights from Cancun to Havana are U$328RT iirc. Visas are available at a kiosk in the Cancun airport terminal.
NYC to Cancun, you can price out yourself.

Insight Cuba seems to have some nice cultural tours ("legal" trips), starting iirc with a long weekend (4days/3 nights) for about U$2100.

Of course, as a U S Citizen or Resident, you should be aware of the laws governing travel to Cuba. Those are discussed in

Living in CT

Hi LMVilla, I live in CT and we are off from Bradley to Miami, then Miami-Havana round trip. We will be visiting Havana and Trinidad from Jan 2nd to 12th with www.intouchwithcuba.com and they have organized 2 home stay nights in Trinidad. The price is very very different to the hefty $5900 that National Geographic charges for the same tour. They say in the past Marazul has operated flights from JFK to Havana using Delta planes, but it's expensive. Will keep you posted on our first experience.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, zwickhenry.

That sounds like a very interesting trip.

Abercrombie and Kent, National Geographic, Tauck and that lot charge considerably more as they use premium hotels, transportation, options etc. and include tips to guides and drivers, etc.

Other OFAC licensed companies may charge less and offer fewer meals, leave tipping to individual travelers, opt for lower cost food and lodging.

They most likely all offer good value for the price, and the varied programs offer a lot of individual choice.

We may have to start a thread for the different US licensed groups offering travel to Cuba.
