Traveling to Cuba from Nassau, What to expect

I will be going to Cuba via Nassua in the future and i was curious what to expect. I am a US citizen and i was hoping that someone could share their experience. I know that they will stamp my tourist visa (15-25E?) upon entry. I know that these can be purchased in the airport upon arrival but that some airlines require it before boarding. I am flying via BahamasAir and I did not see anywhere online that mentioned that they required it before boarding. If anyone knows, that would be very helpful. Upon leaving, a departure tax must be paid of $25CUC. I planned on getting Canadian dollars before leaving to exchange since the rate has a lower fee than USD. Any advice would be appreciated.

thank you!
