"traditional" promenade deck
The wife and I are going on a Celebrity ship out of SJU in a couple weeks. It got me thinking, too late, how much I like the traditional promenade deck where one can walk, stroll, run, whatever, entirely on one deck around the ship, mid-deck, not the windy top levels. Can anyone enlighten me on whcih ships are best for this?

All Holland America ships have the traditional Promenade Deck.

What SRQ said. Deck 3 on the Eurodam. It was disappointing you could not see the bow from it, but it was still nice.

You can check out the decks of any ship on each of the cruiselines' websites. Research is half the fun of travel!!

Both the Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity have traditional promenade decks.

Most (maybe all?) of the Princess ships have the wrap around promenade deck. I really missed this on my recent Celebrity cruise. In addition to being a good place to walk on the Princess ships, the promenade deck is also a nice place to sit in a lounge chair and enjoy the ocean air while reading. The Celebrity ship had ZERO chairs on their partial promenade deck.
The Sun class, the R class, and Coral/Island twins all have single level promenade decks (the Sun class might require going through some doors at the back from what I can find, I've never been on one, so don't know). |
