Cruises and alcohol
 

Hi I was just wondering how difficult it was to get alcohol on board if they don't allow it to be consumed on the ship. Would having a couple of water bottles filled with alcohol kept buried in my suitcase be a bad idea?

Just curious. What type of ship doesn't allow alcohol? Is it a military ship?
Other than that or a cruise ship chartered by an AA chapter, I can't think of a ship that wouldn't allow alcohol.
Cruisin' and boozin' seem to go hand in hand. :)

Lot of the cruise ships dont allow you to bring your own alcohol. They expect
you to purchase the alcohol onboard at the relatively inflated price.

I know some people who've used shampoo bottles. For some reason they
avoid clear and water bottles.

I would imagine that with the recent alcohol caused deaths on board some cruise ships, specifically Royal Caribbean, that efforts to stop bringing alcohol onboard will be increased at all cruise lines. Of course, that doesn't mean they'll stop serving while on board.

Am I missing the point of this thread?
I read the OP's question as how to bring alcohol onboard a ship that doesn't allow alcohol to be consumed.
If it's a question as to how to sneak your own booze onto a cruise ship then, yes, the question has been widely cussed and discussed.

Well the cruise I am going on is a small cruise line in the greek islands. Do you suppose they would go through the trouble of searching everyones suitcases for substances such as alcohol?

Bringing Alcohol onboard
 

Maybe this was thought about to long but Those big listerine bottles that are citrus flavor.. Well yah its gonna cost ya 5 bucks to get but its a half gallon of vodka it will hold and with a little orange food coloring it looks the same ... and probaly will work better to. just a tip from my last cruise and thought i would pass it on... worked great on MSC.

i think that i posted this before.....i have never had a problem taking booze on board.....on short trips [carribean ugh], put in checked baggage....

on many , i've run them thru the xray coming back on board at ports...

on some, i could buy from the duty free or a ship bar at reasonable prices...

however, the cruise lines have policies against this, so read the fine print and decide...

most of our cruises have been on small ships [biggest 2k pax once, smallest 80 pax]....the majority on 100-500 pax...

after 31 cruises, we are having trouble finding another to go on...but arew still looking...
