Going solo on a cruise worth it?

I'm leaving Jan.8 on the Western Carribean cruise to Cozumel, Grand Caymans and Ocho Rios. My date is ... well, we're no longer dating.

Trying to decide if I should go solo or bring along somebody else. I hear the reputation of Carnival is the party cruise with lots of 20-somethings looking to have a good time. Lots of singles and not as many couples. Is this true? Would there be other singles where I could go solo and not constantly feel like a fifth wheel or not?

I went solo...

I went on a Carnival cruise solo a couple of years ago. I had won the trip in a company sales rally, but my company has a policy of only paying a companion's trip if the companion is a SPOUSE (or a life partner), which meant I couldn't take my girlfriend with me...
I had a good time. I met other people and ended up hanging out with them (actually, met and hung out with several different groups of people). There are a lot of couples on these boats, but plenty of single people and groups of friends. I say if you already paid for the trip and can't get your money back - definitely go and make some new friends!

Have a good time...

Going on a Carnival cruise solo is a great idea. If you check out http://www.singlescruise.com you will see that many of their iteneraries are on Carnival.

Carnival also awarded them with Travel Agency of the Year so that's got to mean something too.

Go for it. I'm sure you'll have a great time.
