looking for carribian

Hi

I'm looking at a carribian cruise.

Problem is is that i'm in Austraila and i don't know any good places to look on the net for carribian cruises.

Anyone got any publications or links to have a look at?

You can check prices, sailings, etc. on www.travelocity.com.

For general information, message boards and ship reviews check out www.cruisecritic.com and www.cruisemates.com.

Good luck.

Thanks for that

I wasn't sure of any reliable sites or companies as they don't get advertised here in AUS.

a couple of sites that came up looked dodgy

Also, do the cruise lines sometimes have special deals?
also if i was looking for a June 2005 trip when would be the best time too book.

I've only been on 1 cruise before. Princess ship opperated by PandO australia (pacific princess) and although teh entertainment was very poor (small boat)

Although the food i enjoyed very much

I sould have written a trip report but i forgot :(
although i have over 1200 photos of that 10 day trip

As a rule, you will get a better price NOT purchasing directly from the cruiseline. They will charge you brochure price whereas you can get major discounts from brokers such as Cruiseone, or CruisesOnly, etc. Most ships do not have great entertainment, usually mediocre, but then there is always the casino, movie, disco, lounges, etc.

Caribbean Cruise

I have a small group going on Princess Eastern Caribbean cruise April 16-23. You can get the terrific prices without having anything to do with the group---basically most everyone wants the good prices without any commitment. If interested I'll send you the info. :)

I would agree with you on that one except for RCCL! What an amazing program of entertainment. I was surprised. If you are looking for good travel, at a decent price, with good sized rooms, on a big-@$$ boat go with Royal Carribean. You won't regret it.

Enjoy! :D

Caribbean cruise

Hello Coffee Med (Mike) I'm fairly new to this board and don't want to do anything improper-- I hope posting the details won't be a problem--I'm not a travel agent and not affiliated with anyone--however I've been on fifteen cruises and have put together five--now my sixth group--this is on the itinerary you've described (Caribbean Princess) the prices are: Balcony Category BC $999.00 per person (Balcony) Category E $839.00 per person (Outside) Category J $699.00 per person (Inside)--these prices include all taxes/port charges etc.--bottom line price. Airfare is seperate and is always cheapest if you book your own--rather than through the cruise line---some of us fly down the day before the cruise and have booked Priceline rooms that include free shuttle service from airport and to cruise ship (I can can give you more info if interested) check prices for airfare on Orbitz--insurance is also available and the fee charged is by age/amount of money spent for trip--but not mandatory---I'll be glad to answer any questions you/or others may have--thanks ^

derby44,
Is this still available? There are 4 (wife, I, & kids 21,18) of us looking for 1 room and we are very interested.

Do you know if the hurricanes last fall have any current impact on the islands?
St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Maarten Netherlands Antilles or Princess Cays Bahamas.

IMHO, the most knowledgeable man in Australia on cruising work at The Cruise Specialists in Brisbane.

Not sure if I can post phone numbers here, so just head to whitepages.com.au and search for them in Brisbane.

You can't go wrong with him.

thanks for that,

I think we have settled on a cruise.

On the RCCL mariner ship, in August during huricane season :) (nice and cheap).

However i wont know if its for certain untill mid febuary, so i will be booking (finances permitted) in about a month.
