MSC: First Status Match by Cruise Line

WOW Flyertalkers, this is truly a first: MSC Cruise Line will Status Match for ANY NON AIRLINE Status Card. This includes Hotel, Cruise, Casino, Rent a Car etc., programs where you have travel related status.

Sorry, even the new ones don't seem to work, so here is the USA website and you can connect through there:

1. Click the top right, under MSC Voyager Club.
2. Choose Loyalty Match Program.
3. Fill out the online form.
4. Scan/Attach copy of Tiered Card & or Statement Showing Status.

Hopes this helps!!

Gave it a try. I'm a Carnival Platinum under the old rules, achieved with 10 cruises and a total of 50 days.

I don't have a "membership card" per se, so I sent a screenshot of my status and benefits from carnival.com.

I'll let you know what happens!

I will try my newly acquired IHG Spire status and see what happens. Probably just like the last 2 Holiday Inns I've stayed at, they won't know what to make of it.

Europe Status Match Update.

Loyalty Match is available for:

MSC Germany:http://www.msc-kreuzfahrten.de/de_de...-Programm.aspx

MSC Italy:http://www.msccrociere.it/it_it/MSC/...tus-Match.aspx

MSC USA:http://www.msccruisesusa.com/us_en/M...h-program.aspx

MSC France:http://www.msccroisieres.fr/fr_fr/Of...tus-Match.aspx

So far those are the only regions I could find that are offering Status Match at this time.

they are only offering status matches from other cruise lines. Airline, hotel and tour companies are excluded and will NOT be matched.

They are all incomplete.

Correct links are:

Italy: http://www.msccrociere.it/it_it/MSC/...tus-Match.aspx

France: http://www.msccroisieres.fr/fr_fr/Of...tus-Match.aspx

From the small print. I think the placement of the comma and the period are important, might be hard to see in the small print though.

MSC Cruises will only consider benefit cards from other Cruising companies, Hotels and/or Tour Operators. Airline Company benefit cards are excluded

So, was I correct that ONLY airline cards are excluded?

Well, I don't know that they would take a higher tier Chevron gas card or something lol.

Thanks, while I have never sailed with MSC the status match might be worth the effort in case I ever do. The only issue that I see is that the benefits are usually not that significant.

It is not a very highly regarded cruise line. They tried to up the ante a while back with a cruiseline within a cruiseline and had a separate more upscale section on the upper decks. think suites, butler, upgrades, etc. didn't work well at all, as a friend of mine said that was fine until you had to leave that area. Then you knew you were on a mass market ship. the hardware is pretty but the software is not that good.

They have some pretty looking ships and are very affordable. Especially if you take kids. They have some neat concept ships coming out in the next few years for North America, as well as Europe. I was tempted to give them a shot a few years ago, but I didn't really like the ship they had here at the time.

Interesting. Just got to Cunard Gold but am not intending on cruising anytime soon with MSC.

Wonder what level of MSC I'd get for being a SPG Platinum?
