best card program
I currently have a Chase Continental Onepass debit card. I was wanting to get a credit card out there that either:
1. Allows me to gain miles off of purchases and then transfer to continental or 2. points that I can transfer over to Continental My theory is this. I would like to make all of my purchases using that credit card, get the miles from them, then PAYOFF my card balance every month with my Chase Continental Debit card and get the points from that because I am using the credit function. That way I could be getting more points every month. What is the best credit card to get? Any input? |

To be sure I understand correctly, you expect to be able to use a debit card to pay the balance due on a credit card, and to have the debit card issuer treat the transaction as a mileage earning purchase rather than a cash advance? |
or to give the answer with slightly less sacrasm.
they won't let you pay a CC off with a CC/DC as a CC transaction. They *will* in their great mercy let you do a balance transfer that does not earn you points and charges you now at a minimum 3-4% of the balance from the get-go. |
Ok. All I wanted to do was have a credit card and buy stuff with it and get points or miles and then pay it off using my chase continental debit and get the miles from that. I had no idea you could not pay off a credit card balance using your bank card as credit even though it is essentially NOT credit because it comes directly out of your bank account.
