Yes. My phone payment made this morning is reflected in the automatic phone message system saying "A Payment of XXXX is received today. This payment is not yet reflected in the account balance."

EDIT:
The payment amount is coming out my BofA checking account after 6PM. I knew it was not debited yet at around 3PM because I had made a check deposit at a branch, the deposit slip printed at 15:15 still showed account balance not including the payment.

My supposedly "Fedexed" BofA card of course has not come even though in BofA system it said it is scheduled to be delivered by 5PM today. Just talked to FedEx to trace by delivery address - the information is NOT in FedEx system. So the card is not sent out yet despite what is input in BofA system.

EDIT:

After 3 CSRs and 2 Supervisors, it has been determined the new card despite being ordered and to be sent by FedEx - it has never been done. They knew the "old Schwab card" fiasco.

The latest news is, the BofA card is not sent out until Dec! May be this is the way BofA planned - to get rid of us the non-profitable "old Schwab card" customers.

A few folks reported on FatWallet that they were able to convert the card to Fido's FIA card before the disappearing act.

This is one FUBAR situation.

I called this morning, and got an agent who first tried to transfer me to "online support", but after I stopped him and stated it was a Schwab/FIA card he knew what I was talking about.

According to him:
- Our new cards were sent on the 4th; should arrive any day (I'll believe that when I see them)
=> EDIT: When I wrote "our", I meant mine and my wife's, not everyone who had a Schwab card.

- He was able to see current and past charges, read me the last statement balance, and confirm that the full-balance autopay is still scheduled for this month.

- The old account number shows as "deactivated" on Nov 2, but after researching (when I complained that I didn't even have new cards yet and have scheduled payments going to the card!) shows that charges will forward to the new account number until Dec 5. We haven't used the card in the last week, but he found a recurring charge that did go through.

- He gave me the new card number, but I haven't tried to see if I can log in with it (don't have any current BofA accounts)

If you have no plan to use the BofA card, don't plan to activate, but you have to register it for online access in order to see the previous card balance?

Yes. There is no other way to see the information online other than activate the new card, register it at BofA site. Supposedly after that you would see the previous card balance.

A note about Pay by Phone - it takes 2 business days for it to reflect in the system.

Although immediately after you made the payment, the phone system would recognize the receipt of the payment and even informs you that the payment is not reflected in the balance, the next day, the system reverts to as if nothing has ever happened - no payment is received, outstanding balance remains unchanged as before payment. This despite the actual $ is already a confirmed ACH out from my BofA checking account. So I made a call to the FIA 800 number. They can see the payment is received but said it would take TWO business days for it to reflect on the credit card side. Though there are actually more stories to that but the FIA side rep has no clue about it. She just went by the 2 business days script.

I remember online payment if made before the cut-off time of the day would be processed the same day and the next day the outstanding balance would reflected the payment. Isn't this the case with online payment?

Finally, DONT ask for expedition of your card otherwise you might end up with in the sad situation as mine.

BofA finally determined the supposed FedExed card is "lost" (though I suspect it is not processed on the 7th as requested), the FIA rep I talked to last night canceled that card and re-issued yet another new card with new number WITHOUT telling me what he did. As a result, my phone payment has to roll to the latest new card number and it would take another 3 to 5 business days. However the payment will carry the original paid date. This IS the reason why the payment is not properly reflected in the outstanding balance yet according to the FIA rep I talked to this morning 11/09.

EDIT:

FedEx guy came at 3pm and the packet was handed over without any signature. All he asked was my first name, then handed the packet to me once I answered yes. Of course this is too late as the cards inside are canceled by the overzealous FIA rep last night. I called Phoenix center's phone number and a helpful rep there manually linked the payment to the new card number requested last night by the FIA rep. The cancellation under "stolen/lost cards" cannot be reversed so the cards in the FedEx packet are of no use now. I was hoping to get the new card so I could test out the accuracy of the 0% forex fee.

BTW, it appears the group of reps based at Phoenix is a relative small group as the rep I talked to today, knows the other 2 Phoenix based reps personally, she told me as she went over the notes in my account.

If you must call, use the 1-800-877-5749 - this is the number leads to Phoenix call center - and the reps there are more "specialists" type. The quality of call is consistent and the reps are more knowledgeable.

The 1-800-421-2110 FIA number could go all over the place to Delaware or Morgan City, WV and the quality of the calls varies. just sayin.

If your due date is 2 weeks from now I suggest you to just wait one more week for the new card to come before making a phone payment. We could not do that because we are leaving the country on Friday and wont be back until Nov 30.

If your due date is 1 week from now, do call to pay by phone now so you would have enough time left if you need to follow up on that.

On Fatwallet thread there at least one or two posts about the reps told people that the scheduled payments might get blotched in the transition time but hope it wouldn't. Although nobody can tell now until the scheduled dates have passed.

What a mess! I'm so glad I paid off the card in full and moved my spending to another card. Bank of America is a worthless excuse for a bank.

^ I am anxiously waiting for my new card to arrive so I can cancel it and I will be sure to tell Bank of America why I am doing so.

Cancelled card yesterday. I think I am more upset that I received no notification (and my online account disappeared) than of the change in the rewards program. The rep was not surprised, nor did she say anything. I simply stated "this was a Schwab card" and she seemed to completely understand why I cancelled it. Wish it would have lasted a couple of months more so I could pay my property taxes...

I am also a bit irked at Schwab for starting this card and then getting rid of it so quickly by handing it off to FIA where it was doomed.

Thanks to all of the above posters on this long thread... I would have had no idea what was going on without Flyertalk...

Does your city/county not allow you to pay property taxes early?

Just an update for those still wondering about such things...

Called today to find out [1] whether the card would still be free of forex fees (as others here have indicated), [2] where we would find written information about these (and other) fees, and [3] when we could expect to receive our new cards.

After holding for 7+ minutes, finally got a rep who stated that [1] the new cards would not be subject to forex fees, [2] a fee/rate disclosure would accompany the replacement cards, and [3] our new cards had been "requested in the system" on November 7, and we should expect to receive them within two weeks of that date.

YMMV

Mine too. I see my graphic that is associated with my username, but when I type in the password, it says no account.

I don't even know if I have a balance that needs to be paid.

My initial BOFA experience...

was terrible!

I knew that I was going to receive my new card sometime this month and I thought it was ok for me to keep using my current FIA card. Well, everything was fine until yesterday. I got a fraudulent charges call from BOFA. The auto message was asking me to confirm if the " x million dollars" charge was made by me ??? . I managed to speak with a real person to find out what is going on after 5-10 minutes. She asked me about a few of other charges I made the day before on my FIA card, I confirmed them. Then for yesterday, there was a $5K charge by a clothing store with my card ending xxxx. I said I didn't have a card ending with those 4 digits. She said, "yes you do, this is the BOFA card." I repeated that I had not received the new card, and that charge did not belong to me. She cancelled the card and said that they would send out a new one. She also mentioned that I called in on Nov 7th, to request this new card. I said I did no such thing and that was the first time I was in contact with them. Well, after some discussion on the phone, I asked when the new card would arrive, and she said 7-10 days. I asked why they wouldn't overnight, and she said that would cost me $15, unreal!

So, someone hacks into their systems before the clients even receive their cards and manages to charge large amounts even before the cards are activated. That tells a lot about their security levels. I guess I will just cut out the card if ever I receive it.

Well of course you probably knows that happens all the time whether the cards are stolen in the mail (used to be a big big problem with my post office) or they clone the card with the number. The question is how they are able to activate the card' in theory you're supposed to call from your home number to verify receipt of the card. It's also possible the vermin who made the charge cloned the old card number from your use of it the day before but the system is set up to automatically send charges on the old card over to the new card number....there's plenty to scream about what's been going on with this but what happened to you, unfortunately, happens all the time and may not be on account of the changeover.

Here's my problem. I use a bill paying service at Fidelity and hold the payment as long as possible. Up till now, a payment fo FIA is processed the same day as it is electronic. I leave two or three days from the due date and it's alway been safe. I have a payment of over $5,000 (I charged some medical expenses on the old card and after the October billing period closed, I charge another $5,500 setting the payment date for 18 November of the original October statement. I have no address to have the payment forwarded to. I have no doubt it will be credited' the question is when. And if it is posted after the payment due date, then of course I am liable for interest not only under the October purchases but the purchases made that will appeal on the November statement until payment is posted. If they pull that sh-t on me, I will fight them from here to wherever. (Incidentally, thje way I handle medical payments what with current low interest rates is instead of having the insurance company reimburse the doctors, I have the doctors bill me and then submit for reimbursment through the insurance company! And until I read the airline 30k idea, I thought I was being sneaky.

No BofA Card Yet....

But FIA Card Services is doing just an excellent job of extending offers to me on my closed card account:
  1. With the final statement, they've extended a "low promotional 0% promotional APR" on my closed account, and
  2. I received a separate mailing asking me to register my closed FIA Card Services account for a $25 statement credit if I make qualifying purchases of at least $199 on movie theaters, sporting events or theatrical productions.

How they propose to do that since BofA has indicated that there is a new card number is beyond me.

Haha... Me too. Spend $200 on a non-existent card and get $25! woohoo!
