Canadians: New CIBC Infinite Visa
CIBC Aerogold - Canada's Leading Travel Rewards Card Line-up - Gets Even Better with Visa Infinite Credit Card Benefits
TORONTO, March 12 /CNW/ - CIBC today announced the upcoming launch of the CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite card, a new addition to its highly successful Aerogold family of credit cards. The new card will provide clients with additional purchasing power, travel medical insurance, trip interruption insurance and access to exclusive offers for the same annual fee as Aerogold. "CIBC is the leading credit card issuer in Canada and the CIBC Aerogold Visa card is the number one travel reward card," said Cheryl Longo, Senior Vice-President, CIBC Card Products Division. "We built the category of travel reward cards when we launched the CIBC Aerogold Visa card more than 15 years ago and response from Canadians has been overwhelming." "We know that Canadians enjoy the value of their Aerogold card," Ms. Longo added. "Every day, on average, 2,000 Aerogold cardholders fly with their Aeroplan Miles. Our new card reflects CIBC's heritage of making the best even better and raising the standard. The CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite card's additional purchasing power and exclusive features reflects our clients' expectation as discerning travellers." The new CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite card comes on the heels of improvements CIBC made last year with the introduction of the CIBC Mileage Multiplier benefit, which enables CIBC Aerogold Visa cardholders to earn Aeroplan Miles faster with 1.5 miles earned for every dollar spent at grocery, gas and drug stores. CIBC will also be adding a new CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite card in addition to the existing CIBC Aventura Gold Visa card. The CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite card will provide cardholders with access to travel rewards, a 1.5 points Points Multiplier for every dollar spent at grocery, gas and drug stores, as well as additional purchasing power, travel medical insurance, trip interruption insurance and access to exclusive offers for the same fee as the Aventura Gold Visa card. This past year CIBC introduced free value-added features on all CIBC cards through CIBC CreditSmart, which helps clients track and manage their spending, monitor changes to their credit reports, be aware of potential fraudulent uses of their credit cards, and deal with identity theft. CIBC CreditSmart is unique to the marketplace and CIBC cardholders have responded positively to the offer. CIBC will be inviting eligible cardholders over the coming weeks to take advantage of the benefits offered by the CIBC Aerogold Visa Infinite and CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite cards through exclusive mailings. CIBC is the number one premium credit card issuer in Canada based on purchase volumes and outstanding balances. CIBC is a leading North American financial institution with nearly 11 million personal banking and business clients. CIBC offers a full range of products and services through its comprehensive electronic banking network, branches and offices across Canada, in the United States and around the world. |

Received a letter from CIBC a few days ago advising that my Aerogold Visa will be converted to the new Aerogold Infinite. I shall receive my Aerogold Infinite Visa card in mid Summer 2008. August? It will bear a new account no. and please don't forget to notify my pre-authorised payments, etc. What a joke! They couldn't even get the card out before the peak travel season so that the cardholder may take advantage of the added travel protection features!

CIBC Infinite Visa
On Mar.13, jiber172R posted in this forum, the announcement of the new CIBC Infinite Visa. I have just received my notice of this new visa card (Aug.21). What this glowing announcement failed to say was that all the benefits mentioned apply only to people under 64 yrs. of age. Although those over 64 are paying the same fee for their VISA card as those under 64, they are not getting any of these benefits. This is age discrimination. Has anyone else noticed this discrepancy and what are your comments?
