BOA US Airways Fee Waiver???
I have the BOA US Airways Visa that should be $90.00 per year. The fee was waived last year (when the Juniper card came out and there was great confusion) but BOA is refusing to waive it this year. Any other members been successful in waiving the fee???

Deposit over $100K in cash at BOA and your Premiere Banker can waive the fee for you. |
Call BofA and tell them you want to "close the account". They will ask you to "please hold, while we transfer you to an account specialist". The specialist will ask you "Why do you want to close the account?". Tell him/her "Because I don't want to pay the $90 annual fee. It's not worth it considering how much I use the card." Listen to what they have to say. If they don't say anything that appeals to you, suggest that they "waive the annual fee in exchange for reducing the miles awarded from 1 mile per dollar spent, to 1 mile per 2 dollars spent." See what they say.
Remember, you don't have to agree to anything, at that time, even though you called them up to close the account. If nothing sounds good, just say "Never mind. I'll call back later." then hang up, and re-post here with your experience for some more advice. And please let us know how it all shakes out! |
I just tried the closing the account and they still wouldn't do it. But they did offer to move the credit line to my Merrill + account and I readily agreed. It was very easy.

Dolmar,
I thought Bank of America refused to waive the fees associated with their airline cards for premier and private banking clients or has this changed recently? |

I have a Private Bank account with BOA and they have been waiving the annual fee on my US Airways card for about 5 years now. No problem. I know people who have 500K + cash deposit as premier clients getting it waived too. |
And afterwards did you get fee reversed and close account?

Yes, I promptly got a fee credit and moved the line! It was very simple and I know have a 100k+ line on my Merrill Visa which looks cool when you log in.

This year they do not seem to offer much, if anything.
