Application Help
Hey Guys, just signed up tonight...Seems like you guys really know how to work the point programs....
ANyways, I just paid off a bank of america credit line, my BOA credit card, and my optima AMEX... I want to keep my OPTIMA and my credit line is actually a cash reserve in case I go overlimit on my checking.....However, i went into pentalty phase on my BOA platinum plus credit card (33% APR for 6 months, but like i said I paid it off) so my question is.... Should I cancel my account then reapply? not sure what my FICO score is but I am going to check it, if I have over a 700 and my income is over 100k will i be able to qualify for a BOA worldpoints signature visa or do you think they will use my previous BOA Platinum Plus history that they have in house against me? I mean, i dont mind applying for a Chase signature card, its just that I have all my checking/business accounts with BOA...let me know what you guys think. I figure if anyone knows the answer it will be you guys. |
a) closing the account doesn't erase it from your credit history and can only hurt it due to having a shorter average accounts length
b) the worldpoints visa very easy to get so I would be surprised if you don't get it (I got one a couple of months ago with only two months of US credit history). c) why do you want the worldpoints visa in the first place?? |
World Points
I really just want a signature card, and the reason for world points was because it was BOA and my checking and business accounts are BOA.
btw, thanks for replying, since u seemed to be the only one that did lol |
You would probably get more replies if you asked just one or two specific questions in a post.
My question is: why have a B of A account or card at all? Lousy service, high fees. There are much better alternatives, e.g., World, Citi (AA cards with big bonuses and annual fee waived for first year) or your local credit union. |

Yeah, you guys are right "f" BOA...i should have kept my Citi card i was with them for 7 years and they were willing to do anything to keep my account open, maybe i should call them up and reopen the account before it gets registerd and ask for a stupid CLI like 50k...which card is the best from CITI?
