Marriot reward visa free night e cert question

When Marriot offers a free night e certificate and it says must redeem within 6 months. Does that mean I need to stay at the hotel within 6 months or just reserve the room within 6 months? Thanks to anybody who knows.

Not to thread crap ... Has any one redeemed it? I called marriot and make the reservation with code 34A. But the reservation specialist sepecifically stated that I would need a printed certificate ... Where as the e certificate thing clearly states that there will be no certificate issued ?

I redeemed 2 e certs. I gave the CSR the code and she was still confused and told me I had to have certificate. I told her this was an e certificate, read her the fine print that said this is an e cert. You will not receive a paper cert. I also explained this was part of the Chase Marriot Visa offer. That did the trick

Not only must the stay be completed by the ex date, but MR wont grant any type of an extension on these certs either

stay within 6 months of what? Where would I find the date that would apply for this?

It's within 6 months of Marriott issuing the cert to you. My renewal cert is dated 6 months from last week.

I was going to apply for a new credit card. Don't know if they give you a cert. yearly.

Thanks everyone for your help.

The yearly cert only is for the Premium Visa which you pay a much higher annual fee. The regular Visa does not get a cert at annivesary date.
