Students and visas for air miles

I am a university student with a credit card with my personal bank, and recently received the united airlines visa.

Many credit cards offer tempting intial sign-up offers for air miles; however, I am relunctant to apply. I don't have bad credit, but could this affect my opportunity to receive student loans, if the need were ever to arise?
