Consumer vs Business Card - What's the difference?
 

What is the difference between a Consumer vs. Business Card. Chase, Citibank, AA, all have "business" cards. Do you think the business cards lack the same consumer protections (ie: ability to obtain refunds for purchases)??

Looking over my benefits on my Biz card and my personal card

I know with my Biz Card I have a Small AMF with acct my benefits identical to my personal acct
Handles Master Rental Exented, Extended Warranty, Purchase Assurance, Lost baggage and delay baggage, Global Assistance and more

So what's the requirement for a "business" card?
 

I work for a major corporation. I'm not going to get a business card in their name. Once in a blue moon I do some side work (cash, no business license or anything formal), so I guess I could request a card in that name...but what exactly is required for a "business" card? I could pick up another bucket o' miles if my "business" and I can qualify...

With Amex at least you can simply provide your SSN as your EIN for your business and say you're a sole proprietor. I'd assume others work the same way. (I did this to get an Amex under a 2nd business name when I really needed to top off some miles...)

Business cards might not have the same "everyday spending" bonus points. They may have bonus points on business purchases instead. Other than that they tend to be very similar to the equivalent consumer cards.

A business visa has primary auto insurance, if you rent a car for bussiness. The consumer visa has only secondery on auto rentals. This is big diferance if you rent a lot.
