MBNA: Quantum vs World Mastercard

Have had the Quantum card for about 3 yrs now and am thinking about getting the World MC. I like the idea of Worldpoints from MBNA, which I probably could also get with the Quantum card. But since Bank of America recently bought MBNA, believe the Qunatum card will be on its way out. My question being: Has anybody else thought of this or actually done this? Would stick with MBNA seeing that I've been very satisified with their products. By the way, I pay my balance off every month but would never consider getting a card from AX due to the high card fees.
Live in both europe and the states and use my MBNA card for the states and my LH Gold Visa in Europe, due to the high conversion fees, Euro vs $.
Thanks for any input. ^

There are few MBNA cards that don't have the high foreign transaction fees: Merrill+ and Fidelity. There's one more I think.

Correct. Merrill+ Visa is issued by MBNA, there is no annual fee, no foreign exchange fees, and the points can be exchanged for BA miles in 5,000 point blocks. Be aware, however, that one must be enrolled in the USA version of the British Airways Executive Club to transfer points from a card issued in the US.

I've had a Quantum since it first came out, but about a month ago (maybe a little longer) they sent me the WorldPoints World MasterCard to replace it. I haven't talked to them or anything, but I assumed they were phasing out the Quantum based on that.

Otherwise, nothing about that account has changed. They're desperately trying to get me to use the huge credit line I have on it (by sending checks that give me 0% until nearly a year from now but still charge the $75 fee), and I still haven't as of yet. I was thinking of earning the points, but I need to study the program first. Meanwhile, I was thinking of using the 0% money they keep offering (despite the fee) to earn several hundred bucks over that time period (though I feel a little squeamish doing that). Decisions, decisions....

Thanks for the input... :) appreciate everyone taking the time to respond.
Went ahead and got the World MC from MBNA and should have the card in 5-7 days. My BAEC membership is based on a German address, so the mile thing would not work for me. Again, thanks and have a nice weekend.
