Need a Visa.. which one?
I just went to use my Visa card and it was cancelled due to inactivity?
I now need a Visa to have for promotions that require a Visa. I don't use my Credit Cards (revolving) very much. Basically I only use my Corp AX card. However some occasions call for a Visa and I'd like to get one that will give the best rewards for the least amount of fee. I fly AA, stay at Hyatts, Starwood, Hilton and Marriott Properties. Top tier in all of those. I keep little or no balance, use infrequently and most likely will pay off before interst accrues or in a couple of months at most if its a large purchase. Any hints as to what you think might be good for me.. Again I need a Visa as I already have two MC's. This is all new to me since I haven't applied for a credit card in many years. thanks |
You can try either the Hilton Visa Signature by Citi or the Marriott Visa Signature by Bank One. Both are fee free. There are also Mastercard options, but you seem to lean toward Visa.

thanks
I'll probably look at the MR Visa first since the majority of the Visa promos that I use are for Marriott & Visa promos..

You may be able to convert a Citi-issued MasterCard into Visa (e.g. AAdvantage). The account number WILL change.
You may also try to get the inactive Visa re-opened. Just give them a call. |
Does CB AAdvantage have a Visa? I didn't see it on the AA website (application page)?
Upon further review on my Hh vs MR comparison, I decided that the Hh would be better. Most things are similar such as interest rate, billing cycle etc.. where they differ is MR is only fee free year one, while Hh is free each year Min finance charge HH is 50 cent, MR 1.00 over credit limit fee MR $35.00 and Hh $0 just small things but enough to make me look at Hilton Visa first Finally, I don't want to reopen the visa with the bank that closed me, just b/c it PO's me that they closed it in the first place |
Best Fee-Free Visa Signature Product
Can anyone suggest a good fee-free visa signature product? I already am aware of the Citi HHonors and MBNA Worldpoints Visa Signature, but was hoping for people to offer other suggestions or recommend one of the above card products over another.
I'm particularly looking for a Signature product that offers robust rewards and services, while requiring no annual fee. Great customer service is also very important to me. |

15,000 Hh point bonus on the Signature Visa ???
I just signed up for the Hh visa. The promo on the web page states 10K bonus points and the very last paragraph of the t&c's state 15K..
Hh told me that 10 K is automatic with the first purchase within 60 days and that I have to call back to get the additional 5K Hh bonus points.. Is that true? has it been a problem getting the last 5K? thanks |

No annual fee. It was called Go Miles Card but now is No Hassle Miles Card. I got this card in April in hope of 1% fee on overseas transactions from CapOne will remain the same unlike MBNA. |
Can you transfer among BankOne/Chase/FirstUSA Credit cards since they are all under the same umbrella? I know Citibank allows you to transfer from one card to another, but wasn't sure if BankOne/Chase/FirstUSA allows this. Thanks!

There is a comparison table on my site that lists most major miles/points cards with annual fees etc. It is at http://www.andrewcram.com/frequentflyer.html
otherwise most banks now offer fake-miles cards but if you really don't use it much I assume you want rewards you can agregate with miles/points from other activity (and AMEX transfers) so you probably don't want one of them (ie Capital One wouldn't be a good choice). |

Got my honors visa
and now what? I know I get 10K for my first purchase but after that...
the T&C's show a 15K bonus and when I questioned the rep on the phone, she said I had to call again after my first purchase and the 10K posted to my HH acc't to get the additional 5K hh points... is that correct, is it a hassle to get the other 5k in points also, if I charge $1.00 say in gas, will that count as my first purchase? thanks |
