MBNA
Anyone know if any MBNA cards come with a 0% introductory rate? I couldn't find any on their site.
I specifically want an MBNA card, since I'll be taking a trip to Europe, and I understand MBNA's one of the few co's that doesn't charge for international use (except for Visa or MC's 1%). I usually pay off my cards every month, but I think my vacation's going to get in the way of that pattern, so a 0% intro. rate would be great. |
MBNA typically offers 0% intro APR only on a targeted basis based on their prequalification criteria. In other words, if you want 0% APR, don't contact them -- they'll contact you.
Just a thought: If you think you'll need to carry a balance and can't find the 0% APR & low conversion rate, then a different bank with 2% conversion rate but 0% APR may be better than 1% conversion rate but high interest rate. Depends on your balances. ------------------ On the road, In the air, I enjoy travel, From here to there. |
You could always get an MBNA card then transfer to another with zero percent. I can't tell you how many mailings I got from Citi with a 14-month zero percent period before I finally relented and signed up for one. They *really* wanted me to have it. Every week I got a new one, it seemed. Bound to be one out there. It's true, though, if you only get one and know you're going to revolve the balance, the 2% one-time fee might be cheaper than several months of whatever high APR. Figure out how much you think you'll be charging on it and do the math.
