US Bank Text message verification codes
Recently, great numbers of US bank use a one-time text message to verify their customers. But, the number they sent messages to, must be a US carrier's phone number. Google Voice, other virtual numbers, or Canadian numbers won't work directly.
Is there a list that which providers in the US will be able to receive text messages from the US Banks? And also, among them, which carrier has the best rate plan for our purposes? 1: that is prepaid 2: can receive a text while overseas (not necessary, we should be able to use google voice for this) 3: has data when I travel to the US 4: has a low prepaid rate for a long period of time. I found something like speedtalkmobile, but we don't know whether it will work. |
deleted. I knew this question looked familiar.

Please follow discussion in thread helpfully linked by Mwenenzi, but note that "prepaid" accounts may not work to authenticate identity. This isn't just about the ability to receive text messages, the issuer checks to see if the phone number is registered in the name of the card applicant.
