Sears store card involuntarily converted to MasterCard?
So my Sears store card decided I would be better off with their Mastercard. They didn't even ask they just sent it to me. Does this count as me opening a new card? I don't think it does but I wanted to be sure. Thanks

Same account, different card issuer. Doesn't make a hill of beans difference to you.

Might actually be a good thing. If Sears closes (though they keep finding a way to stay afloat), my guess is Citi converts the Mastercards to another product, while those with the store card will lose their account.
