Barclays wants me to pay the bill, even when I have negative balance?

After a few returns and rewards redemptions, the balance on one of my Barclays cards became negative. But Barclays still shows that I need to pay the bill. Do I really need to pay the bill? Some other issuers don't usually require it in such cases.

No, you don't need to pay anything. Their system will recognize the situation on the next due date or closing date.

Bills are generated by computers, and apparently this one was not programmed for negative balance.

Exectly. What are you going to pay If you pay online you can throw a few dollars their way if it makes you feel better

You will have to pay that many fewer dollars next month.

Well, when the statement was generated it had a balance, but now the balance went to negative.

It's odd that Barclays' system doesn't update the "balance due" shown online when there's a negative balance, but that's the way it is, at least right now.

And that's a positive.

Again, nothing to pay. You should be able to check online if you want to (I asssume you see the negative balance there).

It depends. Usually you have to pay the minimum payment and that canít be offset by any redemptions (but refunds will offset it).

i just set up autopay and let it figure it out.
